Major themes in QUEST research

The research programme of QUEST had three main themes that addressed the “big questions” pursued by QUEST:

1. How important are biotic feedbacks for 21st century climate change?
2. How are climate and atmospheric composition regulated on time scales up to a million years?
3. How much climate change is

   2. can be avoided by managing the biosphere?
