AVOID Programme

The AVOID consortium is made up of the Met Office, Walker Institute, Tyndall Centre and Grantham Institute. This programme provides key advice to the UK government on avoiding dangerous climate change

Budget and recent trends in the global carbon cycle

Aims: To show recent findings on the global carbon budget for 2009 as well as on recent observed or simulated trends of carbon and carbon related quantities over land and oceans.

Integrated Future and History of People on Earth (IHOPE)

Aims:
Discussion and presentation of IHOPE project.
The IHOPE project aims to provide a deeper understanding of the present and a better basis for forecasting the future

Science Liaison Group Meeting: Evaluation and benchmarking of Earth System Models

Organiser: Colin Prentice
Wednesday 12th May: 10:50 – 12:30
This meeting is primarily targeted at UK NERC scientists, but other participants with an interest in informing an international benchmarking strategy are welcome. We ask interested people to pre-register for this session with the conference organisers.
Aims: To develop a blueprint for an international ESM evaluation strategy, involving both modellers and observational experts from different Earth System domains.
The SLG meetings bring together senior scientists from all the major UK research bodies engaged in Earth System Science.

Posters must be no wider than A0 portrait (or A1 landscape).
Delegates with posters will be assigned a poster area on arrival.
